Writer & Director

Kyle Jean-Paul Heard is gearing up to Graduate from the top Film School in the World, the University of Southern California “USC.” Among other things, Kyle’s broad experience at USC has furnished him with a comprehensive knowledge of directing techniques, producing films, VFX coordination, and working with new industry technologies such as the LED Volume. As he prepares for the next journey, Kyle cannot help but look back at where it all started and where his unique gifts and talents will take him.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, just minutes from Washington, D.C., Kyle's love for art, writing, and storytelling was observed at three, even before he could enunciate his words while attending Montessori School. It was there that Kyle showed an interest in storyboarding, creating characters, and writing sentences. His love for artistry and storytelling continued to develop, and his first comic book was copyrighted at seven years old.  He won many visual art contests as a child, including first place in the ACIS international art competition. By age 16, Kyle founded his apparel line called Eye Heard the Truth, where he drew the art on the garments and successfully sold his gear across America.

Kyle’s desire to become a renowned director was realized after taking an International Baccalaureate film course during his senior year in high school. He knew that filmmaking was the perfect fit for him because it culminated all of his natural talents and gifts, including leadership, artistry, vision, communication, advocacy, and his profound desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

In pursuit of his ambition to be the best writer and director possible, Kyle chose to attend Morehouse College for his undergraduate studies.  He was impressed with the curriculum Morehouse offered and knew it would equip him with the knowledge and skill set to write compelling stories. There, he was able to hone his craft. He was exposed to mega film productions and was able to work on multi-million dollar budget sets for Marvel Studios, Amazon Studio, Illumination Entertainment, and Endeavor Content Productions. He also interned for some of the most coveted events in film, such as the Cannes Film Festival. He also met A-role actors and directors such as Spike Lee, Michael B. Jordan, Omari Hardwick, Anthony Mackie and many others.

Kyle knew that his love for storytelling and his artistic style would one day give him the platform to showcase his writings, a rich tapestry woven from diverse influences and experiences that were like no other. His inspirations range from the social commentary of fellow Morehouse Grad, Spike Lee, to the conspiracy films of the ’60s and John Frankenheimer and the works of East Asian filmmakers like Akira Kurosawa, Wan Kar Wei, and Hayao Miyazaki. This diverse range of influences is a testament to Kyle's open-mindedness and ability to draw inspiration from various sources.

Kyle is well-equipped to become the world-renowned writer and director he is destined to be. His films have been showcased at the college and grad school levels and at several film festivals. Kyle looks forward to even bigger and more expansive projects while collaborating with other talented filmmakers, actors, writers, and directors as he endeavors to make films that inspire, encourage, entertain, and enlighten audiences worldwide.
